etiquette around journal name changes?

what, if anything, is the established etiquette around changing your journal name? i saw that it's $15 to get a name change token for the same journal, which is a bit steep for me. however, i also noticed you can make a new journal with the same email, so that seems like another (free) way to change your name, provided you don't mind either leaving your old posts behind or moving them over.

since i hardly have any posts on this journal to move, i was wondering if it would be considered weird to just hop over to a new journal and retire/delete this one? because it does feel like a loophole that's technically acceptable, but maybe not the most polite, lol.
